Classes at the Farmingdale Gymnastics and Cheer Academy

Our class program is geared towards helping a child excel in developing all walks of life by improving mind and body development. We teach skills that are essential in maintaining a life long love of exercise and a healthy state of mind. Each child is important to us; this is why we make it our goal to bring fun, laughter, and discipline in a safe and healthy environment.

Brain Development - Current research supports the mind/body connections. Developing physical skills improves mental skills at all stages of life.
Focus - Learning gymnastics skills help children to direct attention to a specific task.
Body Awareness - This develops special awareness in regards to the environment. Children will learn how their body moves and reacts with each individual skill on each apparatus learned in our class. This is one of the key essentials for all sports.
Strength - Strength is essential in all aspects of life. Strong muscles support growth and protect joints.
Flexibility - Flexibility goes hand-in-hand with strength. It gives you a range of motion that is essential for daily activities. It keeps the joints loose which lowers the risk of injuring a tight muscle. Our bodies with learn to compensate for tight muscles and then will lean towards another muscle to be used in its place. Flexibility will help to prevent any compensation to our bodies that we are not ready for.
Circulation - Directive motion improves circulation which maintains healthy bodies.
Social Skills - We maintain a low ratio of children to instructor. This affords each participant the opportunity to interact with other participants in a structured atmosphere.
